Results from the Kentmere 100 were a bit disappointing, with blown highlights and clumpy grain. Both, of course, possibly the result of the 24℃ temperature or some other development issue. I followed times and temperatures included on the box for the FP4 Plus, though, so let’s take a look and see how it held up.

Expired Ansco, meet R3 Monobath (4)
The Ansco was/is a beautiful film. I’m glad to have another roll to shoot… I think I’ll stick it in the freezer for now, and use it for something special. And the R3 Monobath is an excellent, easy developer. I look forward to using it again… I should probably pick up a couple of rolls …
Expired Ansco, meet R3 Monobath (3 – problems)
So 50 year old Ansco still has some life in it and the R3 works very well and is super easy to use, but I encountered three problems. A couple are obviously user error, probably all of them are. Please. If you have any advice or suggestions, please please please pass them on.

Bokeh Battle: D7000/FG
Bokeh really is all about the size of the recording medium. Again, it’s contrast, saturation, sharpness vs raw physicality. But this time, the difference between the 1.5 crop and the ‘full frame’ is obvious… InshaAllah one day I’ll get my hands on a medium format or 4×5 (or 8×10…) and see what real bokeh looks like.

So these pictures are more or less different: one is in a greenhouse on a bright, sunny day; the other is at a roadside picnic spot on a cloudy day.
