LensBaby +10 Macro filter and the Graphic View

Come to find out, the Graflex Optar 135mm f/4.7 has the same 37mm filter thread as the LensBaby Muse… I rearranged my office last week and came across the +3 and +10 filters that I’ve rarely, if ever used, looked at them, noticed the similar size, and decided something had to be done.

4×5 Roses: HP5+ vs. FP4+

A couple of months ago, I loaded up a bunch of film: 3 holders full of HP5+ and 2 of FP4+. I shot one holder of HP5 maybe a month ago, but they were horribly mis-focused and not correctly exposed. The rest have been sitting, wrapped in zip lock bags, not refrigerated, just waiting, waiting.

Harmon Films – Ilford FP4 Plus (2)

I was impressed with the FP4 Plus the first time I shot it and I was looking forward to shooting it again. And after shooting through a roll, developing and scanning it, and processing the files into pictures, it didn’t disappoint, as long as I took the time to compose and consider the outcome.

Expensive Snapshots, pt. 2: an expensive mistake

Expensive Snapshots, pt. 1a: New Workflow

Snapshots with a 4×5 view camera? Snapshots that require a light meter? a cable release? bulb mode? Probably doesn’t meet the usual definition, but the process I underwent with the two sheets of expired FP4 that my dad loaded into a film holder many years ago (probably before the film expired, which it did in …

Harmon Films: Ilford FP4 Plus (1)

Results from the Kentmere 100 were a bit disappointing, with blown highlights and clumpy grain. Both, of course, possibly the result of the 24℃ temperature or some other development issue. I followed times and temperatures included on the box for the FP4 Plus, though, so let’s take a look and see how it held up.
