وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْعَالِمِينَ
And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge.
Alhamdulillah. I married into a close knit Bengali family. My wife’s brother and sister-in-law live about 250 yards from our house; her parents and sister live about 220 yards away. We don’t get together often enough, and when we do, I’m not always as grateful and friendly and participatory as I could be. May Allah forgive me, for, indeed, Fami, Samie, Sarina, Daniyal, and Fatema (and Firas, Sara, Thahmina, Muhammad, and Parvin) are signs of His greatness, His mercy, and may He guide me to be a better son/brother-in-law, husband, stepfather. ya Muqallib al Quloob thabbit qalbi ‘alaa Deenik. la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inneekuntu mina aththalimeen.
